Arsenal are interested in signing Wojciech Szczesny from Juventus in the summer transfer window, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition, page 5, May 28, 2021).

It has been reported that Arsenal are credible candidates to sign the goalkeeper they sold to Juventus in the summer of 2017.

Juventus are reportedly interested in signing departing AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer.

This means that Szczesny would become the second-choice goalkeeper.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper is unlikely to accept that.

Now, Arsenal are reportedly looking for a new goalkeeper.

Bernd Leno is the first-choice goalkeeper at the Gunners, but The Athletic and The Telegraph have claimed that he wants to leave.

Could Szczesny fill the gap?

The Poland international did not always have the best of times at Arsenal.

However, the 31-year-old has developed a lot at Juventus and has won the Serie A title thrice.

Now, you do not play for a club like Juventus unless you are very good.

Given that Arsenal will not play in the Champions League next season, it is hard to see the Gunners attract a world-class goalkeeper.

Szczesny gave an interview to Arsenal’s official website only last month, saying that the Gunners’ fans are “special”, and that he misses “playing at the Emirates”, so he could be open to a return to the North London club.
