Reported Leeds United target Robin Koch has just posted a farewell message to Freiburg on Instagram.
The Germany international central defender has bid a fond farewell to Freiburg and has announced that he is leaving them this summer.
Earlier today, the 24-year-old posted a photo of him on a fight on Instagram, suggesting that he was on his way to England to undergo medical at Leeds.
The Daily Star reported last night that the Germany international was set to complete his medical this weekend and sign a contract with the Whites.
The report claimed that Leeds were going to pay German club Freiburg £13 million in transfer fees for the defender.
It seems that Koch is leaving Freiburg, and perhaps it is only a matter of time before Leeds announce that he has signed for them.
Koch wrote on Instagram, which when translated from German reads: “3 years @scfreiburg that mean a lot to me. I am incredibly grateful for this time, these experiences, these friendships, these games in front of these fans in this city.
“Thanks to everyone who has supported me and helped me to develop further and to feel at home. I will definitely keep these years in good memory forever.
“Now is the time for a new challenge. I very much hope that we will see each other again someday. Thank you for everything and only the best. Your Robin.”
Good signing for Leeds United?
Koch is an established player in the Bundesliga and has played for Germany, and he will arrive at Elland Road with a strong reputation.
Leeds need(ed) to sign a central defender following the return of Ben White to his parent club Brighton and Hove Albion after a successful loan spell at Elland Road in 2019-20.
