Jamie O’Hara has slammed Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero for getting sent off against Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea in the London derby.
Tottenham Hotspur took on Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Monday.
Cristian Romero was shown a straight red card in the first half.
Romero committed a foul on Argentina international teammate and Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez inside the Tottenham penalty area.
Chelsea were awarded a penalty and they scored from it.
Romero was dismissed for serious foul play.
Jamie O’Hara on Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero vs Chelsea
Former Tottenham player and talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara was not impressed with Romero, and neither was ex-West Ham United player Carlton Cole.
Romero could have been sent off earlier in the first half.
The 2022 Qatar World Cup winner with Argentina appeared to kick out at Chelsea player Levi Colwill.

Romero was not punished for that particular incident.
Carlton Cole said about Romero’s challenge on talkSPORT YouTube (8:30 pm, November 6, 2023): “That’s disgusting. No one wants to see football like that.”
Jamie O’Hara said: “You stupid idiot! It’s a red.
“He’s an idiot, he’s an idiot.
“It sums him up. It sums him up.
“Now get off the pitch. Get off the pitch, idiot.
“You played like a child.”
My View: Cristian Romero needs to do better
In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero needs to do better.
I believe that Romero needs to really look at himself and cut out such rashness from his game.
We know that the Argentine is a very good defender.
He is a rock at the back for Spurs on most days.
However, Romero does make bad challenges and gets himself sent off.
Like he did against Chelsea in the London derby.
Tottenham started the Premier League game strongly and could have won it had they not gone down to nine men in the end.
Tottenham are second in the Premier League table with 26 points from 11 matches, a point behind leaders and defending champions Manchester City.
Chelsea are now 10th in the table with 15 points from 11 games.
