Gary Lineker and Trevor Sinclair have taken to Twitter to heap praise on Jesse Lingard, following his stunning West Ham debut against Aston Villa.

The £75,000-a-week man recently joined on loan from Manchester United, and he wasted no time in getting down to business.

Lingard netted two goals in the 3-1 win at Villa Park, in what was his first Premier League appearance of the season.

Clearly impressed by his performance, Lineker and West Ham icon Sinclair decided to shower him in praise on Twitter.

You can see what the pair tweeted below.

Scoring two goals wasn’t all Lingard did against Dean Smith’s men yesterday.

According to SofaScore, the 28-year-old also registered two key passes against the Villans.

Additionally, Lingard finished the game with a 91% pass success rate, having also completed three long-range passes and one cross.

Furthermore, West Ham’s new No.11 embarked on two successful dribbles, and won four ground duels in the Midlands.

For what it’s worth, he also won a tackle, and was fouled once.

David Moyes deserves huge credit for getting him to the London Stadium.

As far as debuts go, thing could hardly have gone better for the Warrington-born attacker, and he deserves all the praise he’s receiving.
