‘Play with us instead’: Some Leeds fans in awe at comments by PL winner

Whether James Milner puts on a Leeds United shirt again or not, one thing is for sure, he will always remain in the hearts of the Elland Road faithful.

As Milner picked up yet another Premier League winners medal last week with Liverpool, over in Yorkshire, Leeds are sitting top of the tree in the Championship and hoping for a return to the big time.

Leeds fans on Twitter loved the fact that Milner already thinks that Marcelo Bielsa’s side will earn promotion after he stated that it will be ‘weird’ playing against his boyhood club next season, as he told Sky Sports.

It’s fair to say that the Leeds fans agree with the versatile player, who they admitted they would like to see in a Whites shirt again.

Along with promotion to the Premier League, Milner playing for the Yorkshire club again is what the fans crave and it’s a scenario that may just come true.

Not many would have envisaged Leeds being out of England’s top-tier for so long, and after years and years of hurt, this is the best chance they are going to get in making a return.

Bielsa’s men are three wins away from booking trips to Anfield, Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium for next season.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Leeds fans reacting to Milner’s comments:
