Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to call on Mikel Arteta to get Konstantinos Mavropanos back involved with the first-team.
The Greek defender joined the Gunners from PAS Giannina back in January 2018 when Arsene Wenger was still in charge.
However, the 23-year-old has only made eight first-team appearances for the north Londoners since his arrival in a deal worth £1.8 million.
Mavropanos is currently on loan at VfB Stuttgart, and faces a real challenge if he is to break into Arteta’s first-team set-up.
Why? Well, no matter how much the Athens-born defender has developed, Arsenal’s depth in the centre-back department right now is quite frankly ludicrous.

Arteta has a wealth of options. They include Rob Holding, Gabriel Magalhães, David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi, Pablo Mari, Calum Chambers, Sokratis and William Saliba.
The fact that the latter of those options, who cost £27 million, can’t get a look in right now doesn’t bode well for Mavropanos’ chances.
When the Greek defender has played for the Gunners, things haven’t gone too well.

Mavropanos has only made seven Premier League appearances for Arsenal, and was handed a straight red card against Leicester in May 2018.
That was a real opportunity to impress, and he’s since fizzled out.
Let’s see what the Arsenal fans have been saying about the forgotten man…
