Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has issued an interesting update on the contract situations of Liverpool stars Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Mohamed Salah.
The aforementioned trio are undoubtedly three of the Reds’ most important players, and Liverpool fans will be glad to know that Liverpool are planning to open contract discussions with all three players.
“They’re going to start with van Dijk, so the first one to open negotiations will be van Dijk, they are planning a first bid for van Dijk, then they will have Fabinho and they are planning with Fabinho, because they want to extend all of the contracts that have two years remaining, and then will be the moment for Mo Salah, firist they are planning with van Dijk and Fabinho and then it will be Mo Salah,” Romano said.
This is obviously great to hear, but we can’t help but feel Salah should be the top priority.

The Egyptian could be considered the most important of the three players, but it also feels as though he’s the one they’re most at risk of losing after his comments about playing for Real Madrid in recent months.
Of course, they’ll get to him eventually, and his contract isn’t up in the immediate future, so it’s not that pressing of a matter, but it is interesting to hear that he’s third on their list of priorities.
Fingers crossed these negotiations are straight-forward and Liverpool have some positive news to share sooner rather than later.
