Arsenal look set to wrap up their first signing of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Benfica youngster Nuno Tavares in recent days.
And it seems like Arsenal are on the brink of signing the 21-year-old.
According to A Bola in Portugal, Nuno could officially become an Arsenal player today at some point.
Here’s how some fans of the North London club reacted on Twitter:
Who is Nuno Tavares?
The reported Arsenal target is a young left-back with 25 league appearances for the Portuguese giants under his belt.
If the interest is genuine, the Gunners look like signing him as a back-up for Kieran Tierney.
The problem is, Nuno could wind up playing quite a lot throughout the course of a season and that’s because the Scot is a tad injury prone.
And being 21 with less than 30 top-flight games under your belt, it’s a bit of a gamble on Arsenal’s part to expect him to adequately cover someone like Tierney.
