West Ham United have rejected bids for Andre Ayew and Diafra Sakho.
West Ham United are hoping to bring in new signings this month, but they are also fending off bids from Premier League rivals for two somewhat underperforming players.
The Hammers have lost just one of the last nine Premier League games having drawn 1-1 with Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, as David Moyes has steadied the ship at the London Stadium.
Moyes is certainly looking to bring in a new midfielder, and he could be given a cash boost if West Ham sell two attackers before next week’s transfer deadline.
Sky Sports reported on Sunday that West Ham have turned down a £10million bid from Rennes for striker Diafra Sakho, with French rivals Bordeaux also keen.
Sakho, 27, hasn’t started a single Premier League game this season, and whilst he hit 12 goals in 26 games in his debut season with the club back in the 2014-15 campaign, the Senegal hitman hasn’t been able to replicate that, and has seemingly been pushing for a move away in recent months.
Also on Sunday, The Telegraph claimed that West Ham had rejected a £14million offer from Premier League rivals Swansea City for forward Andre Ayew, as the Swans attempting to re-sign him.
West Ham swooped to sign Ayew from Swansea in the summer of 2016, but the Ghanaian hasn’t lived up to his billing, often frustrating fans this season despite notching three goals in 18 Premier League games this term.
Fans have taken to Twitter to react to West Ham’s decision to reject the two offers, angrily suggesting that the decision is ‘plain stupid’ and that the club should be cashing in on both players whilst even messaging co-owner David Gold to share their frustration at keeping two bit-part, underwhelming players rather than offloading them and reinvesting in the squad.
