James Maddison has told Sky Sports that he argues with Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish ‘every game’ about ‘going down too easy’.
Off the field, the Leicester and Aston Villa duo are best of friends and over the weekend they were involved in a FIFA 21 game against each other.
Grealish ended up winning the contest, but during the game, both shared an insight into what they are like on the pitch.
“Me and Jack argue on the pitch every game,” Maddison told Sky Sports. “Me and him win a lot of fouls. We both win a lot of fouls but we both think the other one’s going down too easy.
“I remember once we were playing at the King Power and it was a tight start to the game. I think it might have been the first leg of the semi-final. I thought Jack went down too easy, so I told him exactly what I thought.”
Both Maddison and Grealish are rising stars for their respective clubs in England, and for over 12 months now, there have been many comparisons made between the two.
They have different styles, with Maddison preferring to play quicker between the lines and attacking the penalty area in a more direct manner.
Whilst Grealish likes to play the game at his own pace, draw opposition defenders towards him before either opening up space for a more advanced teammate or gliding past one or two players and carrying the ball with ease wherever he is on the pitch.
Both produced outstanding performances for their respective clubs last season and they may find that they’ll be fighting for an England spot when the delayed European Championships come along next summer.
