Here are the team news for Friday’s Premier League encounter between Aston Villa and Everton at Villa Park (8pm kickoff):

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith makes two changes from the side that lost to Bournemouth last Saturday as full-back Frederic Guilbert makes his debut and Jota starts, while Ahmed Elmohamady and Anwar El Ghazi drop to the bench.

Everton boss Marco Silva, meanwhile, makes one change from the team that defeated Watford at the weekend, with midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin back after a ban and drafted in place of Jean-Philippe Gbamin, while Moise Kean or Alex Iwobi are on the bench.

Aston Villa are hoping to finally get their first Premier League points on board since returning to the top flight, having lost at Tottenham Hotspur in the season opener and then being defeated by the Cherries at Villa Park.

They face Silva’s Toffees, who have four points from their opening two, holding Crystal Palace to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park and subsequently running out 1-0 winners over the Hornets at Goodison Park.

The fixture between Aston Villa and Everton is the most played fixture in English football league history, tonight being the 203rd league meeting between the sides, all of them in the top-flight – 73 wins for the Villans, 76 for the Toffees (Opta Stats via Sky Sports News).
