Crystal Palace are in talks with Inter Milan regarding the possible transfer of striker Eder according to the Daily Mail.

The Italian striker has not started a game in Serie A under Luciano Spalletti and the Italian giants are looking to sell in order to fund a move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

Palace are desperate for another striker, as Christian Benteke is their only senior recognised number nine and the Belgian has only netted once so far this season, but is Eder the man they really need?

Christian Benteke of Crystal Palace looks on during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium on January 20, 2018 in London, England.

This season has been one to forget for the Italian. All 16 of his Serie A appearances have come from the bench and he has only found the net once.

The former Sampdoria striker has been playing second fiddle to Argentine marksman Mauro Icardi throughout his stint at the San Siro. Last season, he managed a respectable 12 goals in all competitions despite not being first choice.

Eder did also scored 49 goals 135 games for Sampdoria, where he was competing with Manolo Gabbiadini for a starting berth when he first joined. He may not be the most prolific but as someone who is more of a ‘second striker’ he is a useful player to have in your squad.

He was was highly thougth of by Antonio Conte, who took him to Euro 2016 where he scored the winning goal in a group game against Sweden.

TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy report that the Eagles have offered a £2million loan fee and then a further £7million to make the deal permanent rejected, and it looks like Inter want the full £9million up front.

That is a mere drop in the ocean for Premier League clubs now. With a good run of games Eder has the potential to hit double figures which, at the moment, no Palace player is doing so he would certainly be worth the gamble.
