Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is looking to strengthen his side to further their promotion ambitions.

Aston Villa have had a number of injury problems at the back this season and manager Steve Bruce will be hoping to make additions in that area during the January transfer window.
Bruce will be looking towards the loan market due to financial fair play restrictions, but the Daily Telegraph report that Villa are keen to bring Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey to Villa Park for the rest of the season.
The Ghanaian has barely featured for the Foxes this campaign, having played just four times in the Premier League all season, so a move away to get more game time is certainly on the cards.

The 23-year-old has fallen down the pecking order dramatically at Leicester, which may strike doubt in Villa fans minds as to whether he would be a good addition.
In his only league appearance of the season he was sent off against Manchester United for a second bookable offence. He did play 34 times last campaign, however his match time diminished somewhat after Wilfried Ndidi’s arrival last January.
On the positive side, Amartey is versatile which would be a big boost to Villa. The former Copenhagen man can play in midfield as well as defence and at right-back, so he is a good man to have on the bench.

Amartey has also played European football during his time at Copenhagen, while also making enough appearances to earn a Premier League winners medal at Leicester.
He is a player who is unlikely to come in and start every game, but should Villa pick up an injury in midfield or defence then he can slot in and do a job.
Amartey has had a mixed time in the Premier League but he may fair better in the Championship and, as loan moves go, he would not be too much of a risk.
