Ademola Lookman has made a positive start to life in Germany following his loan move to Red Bull Leipzig on deadline day.

The winger scored on his debut away at Borussia Monchengladbach and has found regular game time at the Bundesliga club having started Monday’s game at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Lookman looks to be benefiting playing abroad and learning from a different style and culture of football, so would another year at Leipzig be of use to him?

Toffees manager Sam Allardyce has prioritised ensuring Everton’s safety ahead of blooding in youngsters, which has seen the likes of Lookman and Nicola Vlasic struggle for game time.

Yannick Bolasie’s comeback and Theo Walcott’s arrival have also damaged Lookman’s chances, so it will still be difficult for him to get into the team next season.

Another loan spell at Leipzig would give Lookman more chance of a full season of first-team football. After all he is still only 20, with time on his side, and he has not had regular game time since his Charlton days.

With another year in the Bundesliga, and the addition of European football a possibility as well, the wide man could build a platform to give Allardyce, or whoever the Everton manager will be at the end of next season, no choice but to give him a regular starting berth.
