Lucas Moura would be joining an already impressive Spurs attack.

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Lucas Moura, with Sky Sports reporting that the Brazilian is in London for his medical.

The 25-year-old is struggling for game time in France and Mauricio Pochettino is desperate to bring him to Wembley to bolster their Spurs’ top four hopes.

Pochettino already has an impressive armoury of attackers at Tottenham but feels that, with the Champions League set to return, the squad is in need of more depth.

Should the Brazilian complete his move as expected, it is likely he will go straight into the starting XI, so who is likely to lose their place? There are a couple of players who will suffer should the former Sao Paulo man join Spurs.

Erik Lamela returned from a 13-month injury lay off back in November and, understandably, he has struggled to make a significant impact and has been in and out the team since making his comeback.

The Argentine has not looked close to producing his best, which has meant he has had to settle for a place on the bench, but that could be under severe threat should Lucas make the move to London.

Dele Alli could also be looking over his shoulder. He has had arguably his worst season in a Tottenham shirt and has looked frustrated at times this campaign. Heung-min Son and Christian Eriksen are also competing in that position but they are more versatile than Alli so he will need to rediscover his best form if he is to keep his place.

Lucas is more of a natural winger than anyone in the Tottenham team so he is completely different to what they already have, which will favour him in team selections.
