Everton are unbeaten since Sam Allardyce took over at Goodison Park.
Everton climbed into their highest league position since August after their win against Swansea City on Monday night.
Sam Allardyce is unbeaten in four league games and has picked up 10 points from a possible 12 since he took over.
They are on a six-match unbeaten run in all competitions and are now just six points behind seventh placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Seventh is where the Toffees finished last season and was where they were tipped to finish again this time around after spending over £120m.
Ronald Koeman left with the club in the bottom three while they were 13th when Allardyce officially took charge by virtue of a 4-0 win over West Ham in David Unsworth’s final game.
Everton host Chelsea this weekend and it is a game they can really rubber stamp their improvement against one of the big six.
They have played all of last terms top six and have not beaten any of them, drawing two and losing the other four. They need to improve that record if they want to be in the top seven and challenging for Europe.
Allardyce’s team will be full of confidence going into their match against the Blues. Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson have started scoring and they have a more settled line-up so they will really be able to test Antonio Conte’s men.
A win could see them climb above Leicester into eighth and potentially close the gap to just three points of the European places. Also, a victory over the champions will not only boost their morale but will also send a message out to the rest of the league that Everton are a force again.
Everton’s momentum will really gather pace if they can beat Chelsea and it will force the likes of Spurs, Burnley and Arsenal to look over their shoulders.
