A crucial period awaits the West Bromwich Albion boss.
West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has won just one of his 13 Premier League games in charge since taking over at the end of November.
The 56-year-old has seen Albion slip to the bottom of the Premier League and they are now seven points adrift of safety. The Baggies are also out of the FA Cup so their sole focus is now on survival.
Two of Pardew’s last three league games have been against Manchester City and Chelsea where defeats were expected. Teams around them seemed to have picked up results during that period but West Brom’s next game is at home to Huddersfield Town (17th) followed by a trip to Watford (11th).
Given recent results and league position, it looks like the former Newcastle United manager is running out of time at The Hawthorns, so what does he need from two games against teams looking to avoid relegation?
Victory against Huddersfield at the weekend will take them within four points of the Terriers, which brings the Baggies right back into contention. Over two games teams will drop points, so if West Brom can also pick up a point at Watford as well then there will at least be one team out of the bottom three who will be well within their reach.
Four points is surely the bare minimum though; anything less and the Baggies will still be cut adrift and that could spell the end for Pardew. Failure to beat lowly Huddersfield and Watford will certainly turn the vast majority of fans against West Brom just when they need them the most.
