West Bromwich Albion look destined for the drop following defeat to Huddersfield.
West Bromwich Albion fell seven points adrift of safety after the 2-1 home defeat to relegation rivals Huddersfield Town.
It was Albion’s fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions and it is now just one league win in 26 for Alan Pardew’s side.
The former Crystal Palace boss has shown no signs of improvement. The Baggies are still not winning games or scoring enough goals.
In his 14 games in charge, Pardew has picked up just eight points (one win and five draws). In the 14 games prior to his arrival, the Baggies picked up 12 points so they have got worse and another change in management looks almost inevitable.
A club in a relegation battle will always look to a Tony Pulis or a Sam Allardyce as their first port of call. Pulis was sacked by Albion while Allardyce is at Everton but he has hit a bit of a brick wall in terms of results.
The Toffees want to be challenging for Europe but Big Sam’s speciality is keeping teams up, so he may be more suited to West Brom whose fans would surely welcome him in their predicament.
The Daily Mail claims that Everton are keeping tabs on Paulo Fonseca at Shakhtar Donetsk as there have been murmurs about Allardyce’s position. It must be said that Marco Silva, Everton’s target before the Allardyce appointment, is now also available.
The former Bolton Wanderers boss is not the most popular man at Goodison Park so fans would not be too sad to see him leave, while West Brom supporters would probably welcome Pardew’s departure and a proven manager coming in.
