West Ham, Brighton and Leicester could suffer cup upsets this weekend

The FA Cup fourth round starts tonight and West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Leicester City will be hoping to avoid giant-killings.

The FA Cup is back this weekend and there are plenty of tasty looking ties to look forward to in the fourth round.

There are also plenty of opportunities for shocks and giant killings, which is what makes the FA Cup so exciting. In round three, we saw League Two Coventry City knock out Premier League Stoke City while Arsenal were dumped out the cup by Nottingham Forest.

Here are three Premier League clubs who could be the victims of an upset in round four:

West Ham United

West Ham travel to League One leaders Wigan Athletic for their fourth round tie. The Hammers will meet a Wigan side who are unbeaten in 10 and have lost just two of their last 25 matches in all competitions.

Paul Cook’s side have good momentum going into this one, while West Ham have a mounting injury list to contend with. David Moyes’ team took 202 minutes to score against Shrewsbury Town after a 0-0 and a 1-0 extra time victory in the replay. The Latics have arguably a better squad than the Shrews while also being on a better run of form, so it is a difficult tie for West Ham.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton’s last win in any competition came in their third round triumph over rivals Crystal Palace. Chris Hughton’s side will now take a trip to the Riverside to face Tony Pulis’s Middlesbrough.

Brighton have struggled to score goals all season so Pulis is probably the last manager they want to face. Boro will be tough to break down. They have won three of their last four in all competitions and the Teesiders will be in confident mood, which could be dangerous for the Seagulls.

Leicester City

Claude Puel became a bit of a party-pooper when he left out Jamie Vardy against his old club Fleetwood Town in the last round. He is likely to ring the changes again, which may not be such a good idea away at Peterborough United.

The Posh impressively beat Aston Villa 3-1 at Villa Park in round three and will fancy their chances at home against what is likely to be a weakened Foxes team.
