Has the time come for the Watford forward to move on?

Troy Deeney has had a frustrating season for Watford so far. He has scored just three goals in all competitions and two of those have come from the penalty spot.

He has made only eight Premier League starts this season and has fallen down the pecking order at Vicarage Road. He has been linked with a move away this month and after seven and a half years in Hertfordshire a change of scenery may be needed.

Here are three potential clubs Deeney could sign for this window should he leave Watford.

West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion are desperate to sign more attacking players. Alan Pardew wants to add more goals to his Albion team and the Daily Mail report that West Brom are set to make a bid.

It is a move that may interest Deeney who is from Birmingham, so a return to his hometown and more regular football will certainly appeal to the 29-year-old.

Stoke City

Stoke City are another club who have joined the race to sign Deeney according to the Hertfordshire Mercury. Stoke could do with more firepower up front and the former Walsall man certainly ticks that box.

Stoke are not blessed with goal-scoring number nines. Mame Biram Diouf has been more of a utility man this season, Peter Crouch is 36 and Saido Berahino has not scored in 25 games for the Potters, so Deeney will certainly become their main focal point if he was to move to the Bet365 Stadium.

Chelsea

Chelsea have been chasing a certain type of striker this month.

All their alleged targets are tall strikers who can hold the ball up and win flick-ons. While Deeney may not possess the height, he certainly possess the strength and ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play.

Given Chelsea are yet to sign a new front man, it would not come as a surprise if they were to turn to Deeney and it would surely be an opportunity he could not turn down.
