Swansea have been known to make left field managerial appointments – Francesco Guidolin being the most recent one.
Swansea City sacked Paul Clement on Wednesday evening after a run of eight defeats in their last 10 games.
The Welsh club sit bottom of the Premier League with just 12 points from their first 18 matches. The club are now looking for their fourth manager in 18 months. Tony Pulis is the favourite with Sky Bet, while Ronald Koeman, Slaven Bilic and Louis Van Gaal have also emerged as front runners for the job. All have Premier League experience, but who else could be in Chairman Huw Jenkins thoughts?

Britton has ambitions of becoming a manager, and is someone who is loved by Swans supporters and already has the respect of the dressing room. A similar kind of appointment has worked for Swansea in the past. After Michael Laudrup left in 2014, Garry Monk took the reigns despite still being a player – and he guided the club to safety and to eighth place in the Premier League in 2015.
Paulo Fonsenca

He took the Shakhtar job in the summer of 2016 and won the domestic double last season. He has a 77% win ratio and has lost just nine out of 76 games as manager in all competitions. His team plays attractive football and his style fits the profile of Swansea.

Villa Boas has already won five major honours. He won the Portuguese title as well as the domestic cup and Europa League with Porto in 2011, while he also triumphed in Russia – winning the Russian Premier League in 2015 and the Russian Cup in 2016. His time at Chelsea was ill fated,while he did have a respectable 55% win ratio during his 17 month reign at Tottenham Hotspur.
