After Philippe Coutinho’s big money move to Barcelona, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will have money to spend on improving Liverpool’s squad.
After securing the much needed services of Virgil van Dijk earlier this month, Klopp can now focus on other areas that need improving. Arguably, the highest priority now for Liverpool is a goalkeeper who will make the number one shirt his own, as Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have both failed to claim the shirt permanently thus far.
Jan Oblak
Jan Oblak has been outstanding for Atletico Madrid since joining in 2014. He has propelled himself to the highest level and is now regarded as one of the top five, if not better, ‘keepers in world football.
Persuading him to come will be difficult although Liverpool now have the funds and appear to be a side on the up under Klopp.
Jack Butland
Jack Butland has finally got over his injury woes and has been excellent for a struggling Stoke City side. He has grown into one of the finest ‘keepers in the Premier League and he is still only 24 so can provide longevity for Klopp.
With Stoke’s current position, the ambitious ‘keeper is far too good to be fighting relegation, he will have ambitions of playing in the Champions League to enhance his England chances, so a move to Anfield will surely be attractive to him.
Alisson
Brazilian ‘keeper Alisson has been impressive for Roma as he has established himself as their number one this season. The 25-year-old, who is ahead of Ederson in Brazil’s pecking order, is highly sought after given his fine displays this season having kept nine league clean sheets.
