The Italian striker was initially a big success at Southampton but could he do a job at West Bromwich Albion?
Shandong Luneng striker Graziano Pelle could be on his way back to the Premier League according to the Daily Mail who claim West Ham United have held talks with the Italian.
The former Southampton man is reportedly keen to return to Europe which should alert a number of Premier League clubs and one must surely be West Bromwich Albion.
Alan Pardew has begun to find his feet at The Hawthorns but he still needs to improve his squad and bringing in a striker would go a long way in doing that.
Salomon Rondon and Hal Robson-Kanu have scored just seven goals between them, with Jay Rodriguez scoring more than the pair.
Albion need more goals to stay up and Pelle is someone who has proved himself in the Premier League. He scored 23 league goals in two seasons (30 in all competitions) at St Mary’s, consistently hitting double figures, which is something Baggies players have struggled to do in recent seasons.
The 32-year-old also has nine goals for Italy, two of them coming against Belgium and Spain at Euro 2016 so he has also shown he can perform at the highest level.
Pelle is tall, strong, has good close control and ability to hold the ball up, and is arguably an upgrade on an under performing Rondon.
His transfer fee should not be too much of a problem for West Brom; however wages may be the only thing that os keeping Pardew away.
But nevertheless, Pelle is someone the Baggies need and a player they should consider to bolster their survival hopes.
