Joe Hart has been out in the cold during David Moyes’ reign at West Ham United.
West Ham United’s revival under David Moyes has halted a bit in recent weeks.
The Hammers are currently on a run of four games without a win in all competitions and they are only three points clear of the drop zone.
In the league, West Ham have not kept a clean sheet since December 16. In those eight games, they have conceded 14 overall. Adrian has been between the sticks for all those games his performance levels appear to have dropped compared to when he was first brought into the team.
The Spaniard made his first league appearance of the season against Manchester City at the start of December and put in a man of the match display, albeit in defeat. He then kept three consecutive clean sheets as West Ham then picked up seven points from their next possible nine.
On the other hand, Joe Hart has played four cup games during Adrian’s period of number one and the England ‘keeper has kept two clean sheets and conceded just three.
West Ham’s next game is a crucial one at home to Watford, who are in a similar predicament. Moyes has to change something and bringing Hart back, who has a point to prove, could work in his favour.
Manuel Pellegrini did something similar during the 2013-14 season. He dropped Hart after a series of mistakes but re-introduced him later in the season and City went on to win the title.
The next few months are crucial for Hart if he is to have any chance of making Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad, so he will be desperate to play and perform well.
