The talented Everton youngster deserves the chance of regular football.
Everton have been busy in the transfer window so far, having signed Theo Walcott from Arsenal and Cenk Tosun from Besiktas.
Sam Allardyce has bolstered his attacking options for the second half of the season as Everton look to push towards the European places. Walcott and Tosun have been added to an attacking line which includes Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Yannick Bolasie and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
With the improved depth, it appears to be bad news for talented youngster Ademola Lookman who, through no fault of his own, has been pushed down the pecking order.
The winger has played 16 times in all competitions this season and has impressed with his positive displays. A brace against Apollon Limassol was a standout moment for the 20-year-old and there were calls from the Everton faithful for him to feature more often.
However with the added experience of Tosun and Walcott, it is looking more likely that the former Charlton Athletic man will be struggling to make the bench.
There is no doubt that Lookman is highly thought of by everyone at Everton. He still has time on his side but a loan move away will surely do him or the club no harm.
A move to a top Championship club could be good for his development. He did well for the Addicks in the second tier during the 2015-16 season, netting five goals that year. He would be guaranteed game time, he will be learning more, and experiencing a promotion push could be beneficial for his career so it should be something ‘Big Sam’ must think about.
