Jos Luhukay has had a tough start to life at Sheffield Wednesday.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay has struggled to make an immediate impact at Hillsborough since taking over in January.
The Dutchman has won just one of his eight league matches in charge of the Owls and has seen the club drop from 15th to 17th during his tenure.
Wednesday have lost their last two games and Luhukay has had to face some questions about his team selection against Millwall, where he dropped Lucas Joao and Adthe Nuhiu, which was followed by a 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa despite a bright start.
Wednesday are now only seven points clear of relegation so, if they lose again next week, Luhukay’s position could already begin to come into question if they get dragged into a scrap for survival.

His team have scored just seven goals in his eight Championship and they are still lacking consistency. The Owls have not won back-to-back league games since the start of November and Luhukay has failed to put any kind of run together during his stint in charge.
It would be harsh to blame all Wednesday’s shortfalls on Luhukay. Although there have not been too many signs from his league games to suggest he is the man to put together a team to challenge for promotion next season, there have been some positives.

Defensively, Luhukay has tightened things up and seen his team keep seven clean sheets in all competitions since he arrived. He has also guided them to a FA Cup fifth round replay, so a trip to Wembley is not beyond the realms of possibility.
It must also be said that the club do have 16 players out injured; a lot of them are yet to feature under Luhukay, so when key players like Gary Hooper, Tom Lees, Barry Bannan and Kieran Westwood return, results should improve and the former Hertha Berlin boss deserves a run with a fully fit squad.
If their are still no signs of improvement after that, then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him leave at the end of the season as the Wednesday board will want to be challenging for promotion again next season.
