The Sheffield United striker will be eager to play regularly.

Sheffield United striker Ched Evans made his long awaited return from an ankle injury when the Blades beat Preston North End a fortnight ago.
The 29-year-old has been out since September, after he opted to have surgery on an ankle problem which has been bothering him for over a year.

Evans has featured just 10 times in all competitions so far this season and only started twice for Chris Wilder’s side. Fitness and the ankle problem have halted the Welshman’s progress since he returned to football in 2016 with Chesterfield.
Surgery should hopefully put the ankle troubles behind him, but he is going to need game time to get back up to speed and rediscover his best form.
He has since fallen further down the pecking order during his injury lay-off. Leon Clarke is Sheffield United’s first choice forward as top scorer, while Evans is also competing with Billy Sharp, Clayton Donaldson and new signing James Wilson for a starting berth.

The former Manchester City striker will be desperate to play and sitting on the bench will be no good to him. A loan move to League One could have been perfect for him. If he was able to stay fit, he would have been able to play regular football and he would have scored goals in that division as he has proved before.
Evans could then return to Bramall Lane full of confidence in the summer and, with a good pre-season, would have been ready to perform in the Championship.
