James Maddison has been subject to a lot of transfer speculation so far this month.

The 21-year-old has had an excellent season for Norwich City, scoring eight goals for Daniel Farke’s side thus far.

According to the the Telegraph, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have all shown an interest in the former Coventry City man as the number of interested clubs seemingly continues to rise.

Norwich will be desperate to hold on to their star player, but it may prove to be a difficult task given the calibre of the clubs who are chasing the England under-21 international.

In recent seasons, Norwich have lost the likes of Jacob Murphy, Alex Pritchard, Nathan Redmond and Robbie Brady all to Premier League clubs.

The Canaries are currently 13th in the Championship and have been inconsistent this season, and it looks unlikely that they will make a late dash for the play-offs.

Maddison will want the opportunity to play for one of the top Premier League clubs, just like he wanted the chance of playing in the Championship when Norwich bought him from Coventry in 2016. They are set to make a healthy profit on Maddison, so it would make sense to cash in and move on like they did with Murphy and Redmond for example.

There is always the possibility they could loan him back for the rest of the season if they sell him now as well. If not, should he stay, Norwich could make even more money from his sale if he continues to perform well.

He could bring the club enough money to invest in the whole squad rather than just one position, but it looks like Maddison’s destiny is in the Premier League.
