Celtic were heavily linked with a move for Rivaldo Coetzee this summer.

Celtic were heavily linked with a move for the 20-year-old defender Rivaldo Coetzee, this summer, but the deal collapsed after he failed his medical.
The Bhoys had agreed a £800,000 deal for the defender, and Celtic physio Tim Williamson had flown over to South Africa to complete the medical.
According to Sky Sports, it emerged that Coetzee has an underlying problem with his right foot, and as a result, Celtic pulled the plug on the deal.

Mamelodi Sundowns then splashed £500,000 for Coetzee. The defender was originally expected to be out for one year, but Sundowns boss, Pitso Mosimane insists that the defender will be back within three months.
The 53-year-old added that the player doesn’t need to undergo an operation, and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will be willing to make a new move when he sees his medical report.

Meanwhile, Celtic have made an unbeaten start to the 2017/18 Scottish Premier League season, and have made it to the Champions League group stages as well.
“Rivaldo does not have to go through an operation,” said Mosimane, as quoted by the Daily Record (printed edition; September 5th). When Rodgers sees the medical report again he’ll be willing to have another look at the player.”
