Piers Morgan has been taunting Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, but will he regret it?
Wayne Rooney bagged a brace for Manchester United against Tottenham, but it was not enough to win them three points, with the Red Devils recording a second successive 2-2 draw.
In doing so he overtook Robin van Persie as the club’s top Premier League scorer, by 8 to 7, with the Dutchman injured for the past two games.
And you know what that means, United are no longer a one-man team carried by Robin van Persie, they are a one-man team carried by Wayne Rooney instead. A ridiculous assertion, but one Arsenal fan Piers Morgan used to taunt the striker.
While United currently sit in 8th and Arsenal 1st, the good news is Morgan has a history of shooting his mouth off too soon.
Not only did he dismiss Aaron Ramsey as a liability last season, he famously lost a bet with Samir Nasri in 2011/12 after betting him Arsenal would win silverware before Manchester City; one month later City won the league.
Nobody would rule out a United comeback, save Morgan, and Wayne Rooney may just be the one who laughs last.
