Piers Morgan has selected his ideal attacking line-up for Arsenal with a surprise exclusion.
Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has selected his ideal attacking line-up for Arsenal and there’s a major surprise.
He hasn’t included one of the club’s best players last season; Aaron Ramsey.
Morgan suggests that Arsene Wenger’s best attacking unit is based around Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez playing centrally and Mesut Ozil in behind the striker.
Considering all four of those players are attacking individuals, Ramsey has likely been overlooked with another holding player to slot in and provide the back four with some defence.
Rambo was arguably the club’s best player last season producing a remarkable tally of ten goals and eight assists from all of his Premier League appearances.
| Team | Pos | Goal Assist | Goals | Apps | Mins | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mesut Özil | Arsenal | MF | 9 | 5 | 26 | 2,149 |
| Santiago Cazorla | Arsenal | MF | 8 | 4 | 31 | 2,597 |
| Olivier Giroud | Arsenal | FW | 8 | 16 | 36 | 3,081 |
| Aaron Ramsey | Arsenal | MF | 8 | 10 | 23 | 1,764 |
| Theo Walcott | Arsenal | MF | 4 | 5 | 13 | 858 |
The more realistic quartet of attacking players is likely to be the Ox, Ramsey, Sanchez and Ozil, with Walcott coming back into the equation once he gets back to full fitness following the knee injury he picked up against Spurs last season.
