Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has made the bold claim that Oleksandr Zinchenko has a shout for winning the Premier League Player of the Season award after his side’s 4-0 win against Everton.

The £30 million (Sky Sports) man has been lauded by fellow players, managers and pundits such as Brendan Rodgers, Adama Traore, Gary Neville and Garth Crooks for the staggering impact he has had on the side since his arrival.

But Piers Morgan has now gone as far as to say that Oleksandr Zinchenko may well be the Premier League Player of the Season, after his glorious display for Arsenal in their latest victory against Everton.

The versatile left-back was omnipresent at the Emirates Stadium, getting an assist for Bukayo Saka’s brilliant opener, while also being heavily involved in 3 out of the 4 goals scored against the Toffees.

Now, Piers Morgan has said that Oleksandr Zinchenko has a shout for being the Premier League Player of the Season while discussing the Arsenal masterclass against Everton on talkSPORT.

“For me, potentially alongside [Bukayo] Saka and [Martin] Odegaard, the Player of the Season for us [Arsenal], maybe the Player of the Season in the Premier League is [Oleksandr] Zinchenko. Pep Guardiola said he’s surplus to requirements.”

“His heat map last night, I saw it in one of the papers today, is absolutely insane. He was supposed to be left-back last night. He was everywhere.”

Piers Morgan has a point

This is not to say that Oleksandr Zinchenko has been the Premier League Player of the Season but he certainly should be in with a shout, as Piers Morgan seemingly suggested after Arsenal beat Everton.

The Ukrainian defender’s impact on this Gunners side is second to none as he runs the show time and again from his inverted left-back position.

Alongside the likes of fellow Arsenal teammates and other obvious candidates from other teams, he should be in the reckoning to win the award at least.
