Piers Morgan has given his verdict on the performance of Arsenal duo Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
The Arsenal fan and TV personality was not impressed with one particular decision from manager Mikel Arteta.
So, what has Piers Morgan said about Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz? Let’s take a look.
Piers Morgan reacts to Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz displays for Arsenal vs Liverpool
Well, Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Both Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz started the match for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Just as expected, Brazil international winger Martinelli started on the left of a three-man attack in a 4-3-3 formation. Havertz was deployed as the central striker.
While Martinelli scored the second goal for Arsenal and was electric, Havertz was involved in the first when his effort was saved by Alisson and rebounded to Bukayo Saka for him to finish it off.
As you can see, Arsenal fan and TV personality Piers Morgan has said that Martinelli was the Gunners’ best player.
Morgan has said that Havertz was Arsenal’s worst player, and he was not happy that Arteta took off Martinelli instead of the Germany international.
Havertz played for the entire 90 minutes. Martinelli came off in the 74th minute for Leandro Trossard and, according to Gary Neville, looked upset.
Kai Havertz is not a striker
Kai Havertz started as the number 9 in the absence of Gabriel Jesus. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has used the former Chelsea player in that role before.
The problem is that Havertz is not a ‘striker’. While his hold-up play against Liverpool was good, he should have done better with the chance early in the first half (Saka scored the rebound).
The Germany international is struggling to finish off chances, but I have to give him credit for the way he pressed high and worked off the ball.
