Leeds United striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga has explained to The Yorkshire Evening Post the similarity he has with head coach Thomas Christiansen.

Lasogga has hit the ground running at Leeds following his season-long loan deal from German club Hamburg in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has taken to the Championship like a duck to water and has scored three goals in four league matches so far this season.

The former Germany Under-21 international striker has also provided two assists in the Championship so far this campaign.

Lasogga has outlined the similarities between him and Leeds head coach Christiansen, who also played as a striker and made two appearances for the Spain national football team.

“He played in Bundesliga and I have watched Bundesliga all my life,” Lasogga told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Christiansen.

“There is not a lot of difference between him and me when he played. He was also a typical no 9.”

Lasogga’s comments about having similarities between him and Christiansen perhaps underline why he has been successful at Leeds already.

Maybe the Leeds head coach, too, sees something about himself in the German striker, and perhaps that is why he has been able to get the best out of the German star.
