Lasogga continued his impressive early form as Leeds beat Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga has explained why he’s found scoring goals “easy” since moving to Leeds United.
Lasogga scored two goals in 22 games for Hamburg last season, but has already surpassed that tally in four league outings for Leeds, with whom he will spend the rest of the campaign on loan.
As well as his three goals, the German has assisted three for his teammates.
And when asked how pleased he’s been with how he’s started his Leeds career, Lasogga was quick to deflect attention onto his colleagues.
“I play very good with my teammates together,” he told Leeds’ official Facebook page. “I think it’s easy to play with them because we play a lot of football. When I came the first day here, I felt like I was not new in the team. So it’s great to have these teammates – it’s easy to score goals when you get the ball!”
Despite his explosive start, Lasogga also revealed he has avoided setting himself a goal target.
His predecessor at Leeds, Chris Wood, scored 30 last season in all competitions, and when asked if there are similarities between himself and the New Zealand striker, he added: “Yeah, of course. He’s also a number 9. He wants to score goals, it’s like me. I think he’s done a good job (for Burnley) in the Premier League from what I’ve seen in the last games.”
Nevertheless, Lasogga also admitted his knowledge of Wood – or the Championship for that matter – was limited before his move here.
