Pierre-Michel Lasogga is in good form at the moment and is banging in the goals for Leeds United in the Championship.
The 26-year-old striker scored against Derby County away from home and against Bristol City at Elland Road last month.
The German has not exactly been very consistent for the Whites so far this season, but the striker’s tally of 10 goals in 17 Championship starts is still very encouraging.
Lasogga can further endear himself to the Leeds fans this evening by scoring against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium in the Championship this evening.
Boro, like Leeds, are aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season and will fancy their chances of winning this evening.
A goal, preferably the winner, will suit Lasogga perfectly, and will strengthen Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta’s stance.
During a live Q&A session on the LUTV app last month, as transcribed by The Yorkshire Evening Post, Orta suggested that the club are looking into the possibility of signing Lasogga on a permanent contract when his loan deal from Hamburg ends at the end of the season.
Scoring against a big club like Middlesbrough and in a big game such as today’s is going to help Lasogga’s cause to remain at Leeds beyond the summer.
