Leeds United endured a dramatic afternoon on Saturday, as they slipped to a 4-3 home defeat at the hands of Millwall.
The Whites were looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat at Ipswich Town, but fell behind as Aiden O’Brien headed Millwall into a 1-0 lead at Elland Road.
Liam Cooper was handed a straight red card for Leeds following a rash challenge, and Lee Gregory’s goal meant Millwall went into half time 2-0 up against 10 men, leaving Leeds with a mountain to climb.

However, climb the mountain they did, as Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe struck to level the game at 2-2, and Lasogga found the net soon after to remarkably put Leeds 3-2 up.
Unfortunately for Thomas Christiansen and co, Millwall did hit back themselves, with ex-Leeds striker Tom Elliott scoring against his former club, before Jed Wallace’s deflected strike in added time handed Millwall a dramatic win.
Christiansen will have shared the disappointment of the Leeds fans at the final whistle, and Whites players sent messages to supporters after the game, reflecting on such a galling defeat.

Two-goal ace Lasogga admitted that the result was ‘disappointing’, and he understands those who are left deflated by the defeat, but vowed to get back up again before signing off with the club’s famous ‘marching on together’ motto.
Fellow goalscorer Roofe posted a photo of his goal on Instagram, and suggested that he Leeds squad will stick together even in the face of gutting defeats such as this one.
