Tottenham Hotspur new boy Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has told the club’s official website that it was ‘lovely’ to make his debut on Saturday.
Spurs hosted Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon, playing their first pre-season game ahead of the new Premier League season.
Ryan Sessegnon opened the scoring after just six minutes, before Son Heung-min bagged a first-half brace to make it 3-0.
Both sides made changes as they look to get their players fit, and the game ended 3-0 with Tottenham running out comfortable winners.
The game saw Hojbjerg make his debut for Spurs, having completed his move from Southampton earlier this summer.
The Dane started in midfield alongside Harry Winks, and managed 64 minutes before being substituted for youngster Harvey White.

After the game, Hojbjerg admitted that it was ‘lovely’ to play, and felt like it was confirmation that he has made the right decision in joining Tottenham even if he spotted some issues in the performance.
“Lovely. I came a couple of hours before the game with the whole squad, it was just fantastic to be here and again it’s a confirmation that I’m in the right place,” said Hojbjerg. “The game was okay, I think we did some good steps forward, we still have a lot to do, but what we tried to do in the week – what the coach wanted to do – we tried to work on today, and I think we had some moments where we did it well, and we had some moments where we need to do it better. Luckily, this is what friendly games are for,” he added.
