Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang clarifies Arsenal and Mikel Arteta comments

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has taken to Twitter to clarify his earlier emarks about Arsenal and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta.

Aubameyang has said that when he made the critical comments about Arsenal boss Arteta, he did so because he was still hurting following his exit from the Gunners.

The striker has praised Arsenal for doing well at the moment and has wished his former teammates the best of luck except for when they play against Chelsea next month.

Chelsea will take on Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League on November 6.

Context

Over the weekend, there was a video circulating in which Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, now at Chelsea, hammered Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

The former Borussia Dortmund star was speaking to A. Jewellers.

As covered by The Mirror, the striker is quoted as saying that Arteta cannot deal with big characters and big players.

Aubameyang has now said that he made the comments just after he joined Barcelona.

The Gabonese striker left Arsenal in January 2022 and moved to La Liga giants Barcelona.

Then in the summer of 2022, Aubameyang switched to Arsenal’s London and Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The 33-year-old has scored one goal in one Premier League appearance for Chelsea so far this season.

The Chelsea no. 9 has also scored one goal and provided one assist in three UEFA Champions League matches so far this campaign.
