West Ham United fans were left seething after another gutless display from their side in the 4-1 defeat to Swansea City.

West Ham have been dragged back into the thick of the relegation battle after back-to-back 4-1 defeats to Liverpool and the Swans.

The Hammers are in very real danger of being relegated despite turning things around under David Moyes.

It has all been happening against the backdrop of West Ham fans preparing to march in protest against the club’s co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold and vice-chairman Karren Brady over the way the club is being run.

Supporters are unhappy over broken promises since the club’s move from their beloved Boleyn Ground home to the London Stadium, chiefly their failure to spend big in the transfer market and deliver a stadium truly fit for football.

But the players are doing their best to take the focus back away from the owners with their gutless showings of late.

Supporters braved the snow and ice to make the trip to Wales to cheer on their under performing team.

That seemed to count for little, though, as Moyes’ side looked like they were stuck in reverse.

Many fans understandably left early when the side fell 4-0 behind.

But those that stayed voiced their displeasure at the final whistle.

Accusations the players don’t care cannot be aimed at talisman Marko Arnautovic, though, after cameras caught the Austrian showing he truly cares about the club.

Images showed the forward’s exasperation at the display and also going over to angry fans at the end to placate them and no doubt apologise for the performance.

It was a refreshing sight and will go down well with fans ahead of crucial back-to-back home games against Burnley and Southampton.
