This time last year Robin van Persie was firing Manchester United towards the Premier League title, while Arsenal had just crashed out of the cups to Bradford and Blackburn.
12 months on and Arsenal top the table, and United sit seventh – with the Dutchman’s injury-prone nature returned.
The feeling among Arsenal fans is that the striker sold his soul for last year’s league title, when if he stayed he could have become a club legend, and would surely now be leading this 2013/14 Gunners title charge.
It’s led to a viral photo doing the rounds on social networks, poking fun at the striker – who is suggested must be privately questioning his decision, despite last year’s title success.
