It has been a whirlwind few weeks for Aston Villa defender Matty Cash!

After playing against Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe – and getting both of their shirts at the Qatar World Cup – the Poland defender has now been pictured with Brazil great, Ronaldinho.

The 2002 World Cup winner posted on his Instagram story ‘Thank you for the love, Matty Cash’, as you can see below.

‘THE POLISH CAFU’

Only a couple of years ago, Cash was an all-action winger trying to make a name for himself at his boyhood club Nottingham Forest, who were then in the Championship.

Then the door knocked from Aston Villa and the 25-year-old secured a transfer across the Midlands to Villa Park, including a jump up from England’s second-tier to the Premier League.

Since then, his game has grown tenfold, including being Villa’s Player of the Season for the 2021/22 campaign and then becoming a Poland international.

It has all been topped off by the winger-turned-right-back playing on football’s biggest stage in Qatar, and despite Poland’s exit to France recently, Cash did put on a good showing in Doha.

There’s no doubt that he can take his game up a few more levels, especially under the stewardship of Unai Emery, who has a history of eeking out every bit of talent from his players.

If he does it with Cash and with Villa, then there is no doubt that the club will return to Europe in next to no time.
