Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini has promised to shave off his hair if Belgium win the World Cup, and here is now he may look…
Marouane Fellaini turning into a World Cup star seemed as unlikely as David Moyes winning sports personality of the year, but the Belgian is showing early signs of the impossible.
After a dreadful debut season at United, Fellaini scored Belgium’s World Cup opener after coming off the bench, and helping them to a 2-1 win.
And the midfielder is buoyant, making the remarkable promise, as per Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblade:
“If Belgium is world champion, I will shave my head.”
Fellaini’s afro hairstyle was iconic among fans of Everton, and the travelling Belgian support. United supporters to be fair, are yet to take to him.
The £27.5 million man may intend on keeping his promise, but it’s still a 22/1 shot for them to win the tournament, and the chances of seeing a bald Fellaini remain somewhat slim.
So instead, we have produced a mock-up of what he may look like with a Pierluigi Collina-inspired bald head, but hold on, does he remind you of anybody?
Squint, and it’s Zinedine Zidane? Now if only he could play with a fraction of that technical ability…
