David Henen is yet to make a first-team appearance for Everton.
Out-of-favour Everton attacker David Henen has posted a picture on his Instagram story the Belgian joining in first-team training at Finch Farm, but does have a future at Goodison Park?
The 21-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for the Toffees despite joining the club back in the summer of 2014 from Greek champions Olympiakos, whom he joined from AS Monaco.
With Belgian champions Anderlecht also on an impressive CV, Henen boasts plenty of pedigree for his age. But it simply has not clicked on Merseyside for the versatile forward.
However, the former Fleetwood Town loanee posted a picture of himself in training alongside Leighton Baines, Michael Keane, Seamus Coleman and Wayne Rooney on Tuesday morning – so does Sam Allardyce have faith in the youngster?
Henen has been in decent form for Everton’s reserve side, managed by David Unsworth. He has found the back of the net four times in 12 Premier league 2 appearances, scoring against Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham’s second string.
But with less than three months remaining on his contract at Everton, Henen faces a race against time to prove to Allardyce and the rest of the Toffees coaching staff that he deserves an extended deal to remain on Merseyside.
Joining in Everton’s first-team training sessions will come as a huge boost to Henen’s hopes, though it remains to be seen if he does indeed have a future in the blue of Everton.
