Cesc Fabregas has acknowledged an important date in his career.
Now a key part of the Chelsea midfield, it’s unlikely Cesc Fabregas would never have expected his career to pan out the way it has.
The Spanish international used his Instagram page to post a photo collage reflecting on his career as a professional footballer to date, inspired by the date being exactly 11 years since he made his debut for Arsenal.
It was October 28 2003 that Fabregas became at the time Arsenal’s youngest ever player, featuring in a League Cup match with Rotherham United.
Arsenal drew the game 1-1, going onto win 9-8 on penalties. Fabregas was making his debut at only 16-years-old.
He left the club eight years later for Barcelona, returning to the Premier League this year but after Arsene Wenger elected to to take up his option to re-sign him, he was snapped up by Chelsea.
Sitting at the top of the Premier League, Fabregas is a key cog in the side, even setting up a goal as they beat Arsenal last month.
He may have moved on in terms of his career, and be keeping a low profile off the pitch, but Fabregas refuses to forget that his time at Arsenal made him the player he is, and that at least should be acknowledged.
