Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has told the club’s official website that they have a great squad with a great mentality.

Their latest defeat came on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
The quality of the current squad has been questioned because of that poor start, with some believing they are lacking the quality needed to avoid relegation once again.
Pickford naturally disagrees, offering a glowing assessment of the current group of players.
“We have two home games coming up in the Premier League and we want two wins,” he told the club’s official website.
“Everyone is together – there are a few new faces with injured players coming back – and we have a great squad with a great mentality. Now we need to build on it and get some wins.”
The Black Cats can at least turn their attention away from the league when they take Queens Park Rangers in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side are not in the best of form themselves having failed to pick up a win in their last three Championship games.
It provides Sunderland with the perfect chance to pick up a win and build up some much needed confidence.
Pickford feels the same, saying the game could help them ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace at the weekend.
“If we can pick up a result at Queens Park Rangers we can build some momentum going into Palace on the weekend,” he added.
