There was an interesting figure spotted in Antonio Conte’s latest training session at Tottenham Hotspur’s training facility on Friday afternoon.

Tottenham are gearing up to kickstart their Premier League season again with a visit of Liverpool on Sunday, following a coronavirus outbreak at Hotspur Way.

Spurs, who haven’t played a game in any competition for two weeks, were put through their paces by the Italian manager yesterday and a certain Yago Santiago was included in the session.

The Lilywhites signed the exciting 18-year-old Spaniard from Real Betis in 2019 and 12 months ago, he made his debut at Under-23 level.

Pierluigi Gollini missing?

Tottenham could potentially have a rarely-seen academy prospect on the bench against Liverpool – but it isn’t Santiago.

Pierluigi Gollini, Spurs’ back-up goalkeeper, did not appear to be present at Hotspur Way on Friday.

Hugo Lloris, Alfie Whiteman and Brandon Austin were all photographed in the session, but there was no sign of the Italian goalkeeper who Fabio Paratici signed on loan from Atalanta this past summer.

Gollini hasn’t kicked a ball in the Premier League for Tottenham yet, being an unused substitute in all of their 14 games but, if he’s absent, one of Whiteman or Austin may well be named in the squad on Sunday.
