West Ham United are back in training ahead of a huge season for Slaven Bilic.
West Ham United’s players have been put through their paces as they return to pre-season training.
Among the players on show was new Hammers defender Pablo Zabaleta, who for now is the only fresh face at the London Stadium this summer.
West Ham fans will be desperate to see more new signings arrive in due course, with an additional quality striker vital if Slaven Bilic wants his side challenging at the right end of the table next season.
There is also a case for the Hammers to sign a new goalkeeper and another centre-back, while more creativity in midfield would be welcome.
West Ham have plenty of young players coming through the ranks and the time may have come for some of them to step up, having been bizarrely overlooked for much of Bilic’s time at the club thus far.
One such player is Reece Burke, who is back with his parent club after spending last season on loan with Wigan Athletic
The 20-year-old only managed 10 appearances due to injury yet his previous spell at Bradford City spoke of much better things to come.
For now Bilic must focus on the players he has at his disposal. However with the new campaign fast approaching it is up to the West Ham hierarchy to spend wisely and relatively quickly.
