Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane proved he deserved on the big stage.
If there were any nagging doubts about Harry Kane’s quality then he answered them last night.
The Tottenham striker delivered on the big stage, scoring in the Champions League last 16 when his team needed him most.
Kane rounded goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to help pull his side back from a 2-0 deficit, before Christian Eriksen scored a free-kick.
Kane became the first player to score past Buffon in 2018, and the Italian goalkeeper showed the England international how much he respected him with a post game embrace (above).
Buffon was not the only world class opponent who Kane got the better of.
Centre-back Giorgio Chiellini warned before the game that he may not be able to stop the prolific Tottenham striker and he was right.
Chiellini shook hands with Kane after the game like two gladiators who had paused their duel.
They will meet again in the second leg at Wembley, and if the game is anything like the first leg, then it is going to be unmissable.
