Tottenham Hotspur’s players have been put through their paces ahead of their Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday evening.

Spurs will know that a victory will seal their place in the knockout stages of the illustrious competition but it will not be easy against one of the best sides in the world.

The good news for Tottenham is that Harry Kane returned to the training field this week, following the minor setback that ruled him out of the weekend clash against Manchester United, and Sours boss Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping he continues his excellent form this season.

Tottenham are also likely to recall Davinson Sanchez to the starting line-up after the centre-back watched from the bench at Old Trafford and, if the Colombia international repeats his heroics from the reverse fixture, it will go a long way to ensuring victory for the hosts.

Youngsters Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters were both involved but neither are likely to start, with the challenge to even get a place on the bench proving just how strong Tottenham’s squad has become.

Tottenham are likely to go very strong in this clash as they bid to ensure they not only reach the next phase of the competition but also make a massive statement by finishing ahead of the reigning champions.

That will be easier said than done but Tottenham have got themselves into a great position and it now rests in their hands with three games to play.
